CQIR Contest

Following the success of the first CQIR contest held during the Irish Radio Transmitters Society's 75th Anniversary celebrations in 2007, the Society's Committee at their last meeting, discussed requests from at home and abroad for a repeat event.

You may recall that this HF event celebrated the Irish diaspora overseas and gave an opportunity for those with green blood in their veins to enjoy a Worldwide Irish Contest.

Commonwealth Contest

India have announced that they will be entering a team in this year's Commonwealth Contest. This means that there will be nine Indian stations and one from Sri Lanka entering this year. Teams for Australia, Canada and Rest of the World have already been announced.

Generations in Contest - 2009

Aim: This is the 3rd “ Generations Contest” organised by ARSI (Amateur Radio Society of India), a national public service society recognized by Government Of India. It is a contest for all the age groups of VU operators. You have to exchange “the year of your first Amateur licensing” with the other participants. Suppose, you might have got Grade II in 1985 and graduated to Advanced Category in 2003, you have to give 1985 for the exchange, and not 2003. This contest is open for VU QSOs only. Regular/Occasional Net controllers, Organizers of this contest, are not ELIGIBLE FOR ANY PRIZES. They may, however, take part and send their logs to help the participants.
