Oye! 104.8 FM - Sabse Filmi: Bollywood news, songs and masti on FM Radio - India Today Group

Meow FM has been re-branded as Oye! 104.8 FM.

TV Today Network re-launched its FM radio channel Meow FM to Oye! 104.8 FM. Meow FM was distinctly targeted at the women listeners. With the new positioning the radio station will focus on the Bollywood quotient. The new tagline of Oye FM is Sabse Filmi. The radio station will offer listeners a mix of Bollywood, RJ talk and humour. The station will tweak its product offering for all its seven stations- Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Patiala and Shimla to cater to distinct consumer preference.

Being part of the TV Today Network, Oye! will have a competitive edge in terms of synergy for content such as celebrity interviews and promotion, said an official statement. As part of the rebranding several new shows such as Nikal Padi, Time Machine, Remote Control, Love Stories will be launched.

The station will also air some of the best moments of Seedhi Baat, a popular interview based show from Aaj Tak hosted by Prabhu Chawla. G Krishnan, CEO and executive director, TV Today Network, said that that the company is aggressive about the radio venture and will continue to invest in the brand.

"Our research has shown that there is a lot of repetition across radio stations and we have an opportunity to build our identity with differentiation through innovative content," Krishnan said.

As part of branding the New Logo for Oye 104.8 FM also has been changed and so has the Tag Line "Thodi Meethi, Thodi Catty" done away with giving rise to new tag line of Sabse Filmi demonstrating the focus on Bollywood based programs and moving away from the women only specials.

Another change is change in the website from meowfm.com to it's new home at oyefm.in

WARD - World Amateur Radio Day April 18th

April 18th is the 108th day of the year (109th in leap years). This day marks the founding day of International Amateur Radio Union (IARU), thus the official birthday since 1925 has been celebrated as World Amateur Radio Day.

By all means World Amateur Radio Day remains an individual thing, there is absolutely no compulsion or fancy events to commemorate the day organized on a global or national scale. This being a special day though each HAM is encouraged to promote the hobby, increase awareness, get on air and spread the good word.

Amateur Radio has come a long way over the years. The first spark-gap devices served as transmitters for first three decades of the radio (1887 - 1916) and today we have moved on to digital signals, SDRs integration with computers has shown how HAM Radio remains in the forefront of evolving technology.
