ATS-1 20m CW SSB Transceiver board has a number of jumpers - that need to be connected to deliver power to various sections and stages on this board.

This video demonstrates the second step for your homebrew. Remember - this is not a must to connect all jumpers at this stage, if you do, make sure there is no shorting anywhere in the circuit.

Hello Friends,

Its a long pause on the project due to delay in receipt of xtal filter. But most of the HAMS have moved forward and have completed the receiver. (Those who have the xtal filter and the xtals).

I am expecting the xtal filter by Saturday and will ship them by Monday.

Additional kit containing missed items in the first lot is also shipped with the xtal filter. You all are requested to check your individual mails and check the list of items being sent and confirm by Saturday.

I will be posting the step by step construction details soon.

Please make sure that the TX-RX switching, Audio amplifier, Mic Amplifier, CW Tone oscillator and Delay is working fine before moving ahead.

Next is BFO & VFO.

Godd luck .

Hi Friends,

Finally the good news sailed through.

VU2RAK, OM Rakesh made his first CW DX contact, using his homebrew ATS1, this morning on CW with 1 watt output, using BD139 in the final and received the report of 559.

He shared the homebrewing of ATS1. According to him, the only tool he used, in addition to power supply and multimeter, to build the kit, was a simple screw driver.

I will request OM Rakesh to share his experience in the making of ATS1.

Good luck. !!!

Newsflash

The Pakistan Amateur Radio Society (PARS) in association with Islamabad Jeep Club (IJC) and Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) has started relief activities by providing food, tents and medical support to the northern flood effected areas of Nowshera, Charsadda and central Sargodha districts.

The Cellular services are down and so is the landline. (Why Ham Radio in Disaster Management)Last week, the joint team carried out survey in the north and the centre of the country and to its dismay the situation isn’t promising. Restoration of cellular services and Landlines could take months.

In order to address the communication breakage PARS in collaboration with Islamabad Jeep Club has constituted two teams. One would cater for the northern cities linking Islamabad with Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda. The other would link cities in the centre and would include, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad and Multan.

PARS already has a 2-meter repeater in place and a weak signal whereof can be heard in these areas, but would need cross band repeaters to further increase its strength and allow penetration into the remote areas. This would result in effective communication through handhelds rather than reliance on base stations where there is an issue with electricity.

We would therefore request International and National Ham Community to provide us the following equipment, if possible.

   1. Cross band repeater radios (any brand)
       x 3  (144-430 MHz)
   2. Coaxial Cable 100 ft x3 with connectors
   3. Power supplies x 3
   4. Hi gain dual band antennas x 3
   5. Handhelds (any brand vhf 2meter) x 5

The equipment could be new or used but should in workable condition.

Please email directly ap2nk or ap2mks for further clarification and information.
